@David, showing only one error message would definitely ease the pain and very
much sounds like the way to go regardless of what else happens.

Also, I was not aware of mc-tool but that will do the trick nicely for now.

@Daniele, I honestly haven't seen the light when it comes to activities but as
activities seem to be "the KDE way" of handling different states it sounds like
the way (or at least one way) to go.
