I'm not sure of this, but wouldn't replacing all " " with cause some big usability issues? Because that's the non-breaking space, which means, that the line won't break in this point and it is whole treated as a one 'word'. Now imagine this whole comment as a one word, it would either be a veeeeeery long line or it would break somehow randomly, possible in the middle of the word.
But then again...I may be wrong :)
