We've recently come to the conclusion that the CMs should ship the
.profiles (instead of say, the distro shipping them which wouldn't be
likely to materialize).

I'm sure the CM maintainers would gladly review your .profile files for
shipping with the CM. Of course, you might end up still shipping at
least some of them yourself due to time constraints, but at least you've
taken the initiative to upstream the data files.

The CM authors are also likely to have in-depth knowledge of the
services their CM can access, so they can provide valuable input wrt
obvious oversights in the contents of the .profiles.
