Ok, I must also move to another client because of this.

Bookmarks are simply not enough when used on a daily basis. I forget opening
them from time to time and people in my teams have started complaining from my
lack of presence.

Pidgin is handling this remarkably well with chat rooms are showing up in the
contact list, the possibility to autojoin on startup and autoleave (or not)
when closing the chat window.
