I just realised this could be the reason for another problem: When there is no
chat window open and the user gets an OTR message, the popup just informs him
about a message (with OTR?... as preview) and when he wants to respond, the
message is only shown as "encrypted" in the message window. So the message will
be missed. (Or did I do something wrong? I'm not yet using  but just testing it
out from time to time...)
