Hi David and Martin,
Comment 51 was false alarm. I did try to set a password in a 'clean' (no kmail
start up) openSuse and that had no effect. Ktp failed to connect. There seems
to be something else wrong. KWallet didn't start at all at log in.
As a final test I disabled KMail/akonadi on Fedora 20, removed all entries in
KWallet except Telepathy-kde. Then logged out and in, even rebooted. Everytime
ktp connected fine after being asked for my password. Next I removed KWallet's
password, logged out/in and rebooted. Ktp was happy. At last I enabled KMail
and didn't have any negative effect on ktp.

Btw. I don't think that the crashing 'unnamed app' has anything to do with ktp.
