            Bug ID: 328988
Summary: [feature] Mark gtalk conversation as read when reading
                    from telepathy chat window
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: telepathy
           Version: 0.6.3
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: kde-telepathy-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: frapell at gmail.com

This is the situation: I have my browser open in my Gmail inbox, and my android
phone (in sync with my gmail account).
When I get a chat from any contact, I get a notification both in my phone and
at the browser. If I open the chat in my phone, then the conversation at the
browser, gets marked as read, and viceversa. Furthermore, if I'm chatting with
the phone, the conversation doesn't even appear at the browser.

Using Telepathy with gtalk is kind of annoying in this sense. I chat with
people with it, but I constantly need to either manually remove the chat
notifications from my phone, or go to the browser tab and click the
conversations to mark them as read.

Is there any way for telepathy to mimic what Google does, marking the
conversation as read on the other devices, when it has already been read in
telepathy?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a Google account in your phone, and opened in a browser tab
2. Chat with some IM contact, using telepathy
3. Notifications of what the other person replies are received both in phone
and in browser tab

Actual Results:
You have to manually mark them as read, either from the phone or from the
browser tab.

Expected Results:
Conversation should be marked as read in phone and browser.
