If Facebook XMPP service does not provide this information then there's not a
lot we can do.
It is rather limited, see: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/chat/

I'll double check the stanzas Facebooks server sends.

Note that you can still show offline contacts / search for these contacts and
send them messages just like any other offline contacts.
