Well, as far as I know, it is perfectly normal for microphones to generate
noise when set on high volume, especially if the electric ground is not very
stable or if the mic is on a surface where there is also a fan (laptops) or
something else generating noise. To get rid of it, you *should* really keep the
microphone input volume as low as possible. There is no magic trick to remove
noise. The only thing that one could do from software is to detect when there
is noise and lower the volume automatically, like skype does.
Therefore, I am reducing this bug to a wishlist item. Maybe we can implement
this at some point, but it needs someone with knowledge of audio analysis
algorithms.
