Hi, Sir, I am Vishal V Khadake from Manipal Institute of technology (MIT),
Manipal, India, pursued M-tech in digital electronics and advance communication
( DEAC ).Sir, I had  (ADSP) advance signal processing, speech signal
processing  as major subjects during 1st year of M-tech. Sir, I worked as
an intern at Tata Institute of fundamental research (TIFR), Mumbai under
guidance of Dr. SamudraVijaya Sir. I worked on project titled "robust
speech recognition in noisy environment”. The goal of the project was to
explore a novel signal processing technique for improving the performance
of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) system under the noisy
environment. I emphasized
the glottal closure phase of voiced portions of the speech signal, since
the spectral properties of the speech sounds are better seen during glottal
closure phase. A method based on zero frequency filtering and short time
energy profile estimation of speech signal is used to identify glottal
closure phase interval within a pitch period. Using an appropriate
weighting function, I gave special preference to the voiced part of the
speech sound in glottal closure portion. We found that such a selective
signal processing had increased the recognition accuracy of ASR system
under noisy environment.  For this project, I worked on Marathi (local
Indian language) speech data of 15000 speakers collected over 34 districts
in Maharashtra (a state in India) around 55000 files. For this project I
used SPHINX-III tool kit and for pre-processing (locating glottal closure
phase and generating weighting function, enhancing wave files) of speech
data files were done in MATLAB.

Sir, I am interested pursue my career in speech signal processing domain.Thus,
regarding that I saw an opportunity to work for developing an ASR system
with new approach, so sir I am sending you my project report which describe
my work in speech signal processing domain and experience in ASR domain.
