[kde-solaris] How to modify the root path

Hi!

For some reasons (to have the gcc compiler operational and compile Amarok) 
related to KDE, I have to modify permanently the PATH of the root user on a 
Solaris 10 x86 machine.

What file do I have to edit to achieve this?

(Slackware /etc/profile)

I want the change to be permanent; not some kind of export that is gone next 
time I reboot.
