Hi.

This is a small preannouncement. :-)

I will start packaging KDE 3.3.0 32-bit for Solaris today. Getting
this done and uploading should take a couple of days at most.

This is a full release of KDE 3.3.0, built with QT 3.3.3. This time
around, separate distro packages for Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 will be
available. KDErequired needs a full upgrade, but maintains full
binary compatibility with previous KDE releases.

This distro of KDE was built with SunStudio 9 (Forte 9) on both
Solaris 8 and Solaris 9.

If you would like some i18-n packages built, please let me know. I
already know about kde-i18n-de. :-) Also, please let me know if you
have any other special requests. I will try my best.

A few highlights:
	- 4 additional, very cool looking, widget styles, courtesy of David
Johnson: Grover, NewStep, Phase and Qinx
	- SuperKaramba 0.34
	- i had promised a reduction in swap space/memory usage. Here it is:

[steleman at obiwan][~/programming/kde-3.3.0/extra-3.3.0][09/06/2004
12:05:38][891]>> uname -a
SunOS obiwan 5.9 Generic_117171-05 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60
[steleman at obiwan][~/programming/kde-3.3.0/extra-3.3.0][09/06/2004
12:05:56][892]>> swap -s
total: 170984k bytes allocated + 93120k reserved = 264104k used,
9691840k available
[steleman at obiwan][~/programming/kde-3.3.0/extra-3.3.0][09/06/2004
12:05:57][893]>>

There are 2 separate instances of Forte 9 compiling with very high
optimization, 2 Konqueror's, SuperKaramba 0.34, 2 Konsoles, 2 xterm's
and GKrellM, plus GpG, KMix and KWeather. You can now shrink your
swap partitions. ;-P

KDevelop 3.1.0, Quanta and KOffice will follow after i am done
packaging and uploading the main distro, within a week at most.

As usual, i will provide patches in xdelta and full file format,
scripts, etc. There will also be release notes, installation
instructions, tricky how-to's, etc.

And now, back to work for me. :-)
