On an unrelated note, I have come across a bug in Solaris which I think is 
related to readdir_r.  See http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90004  

I am able to consistently reproduce this bug on Solaris at least with my gcc 
compiled KDE.  Can you try it as well?  All you need are some long file 
names.
