Apologies if this has already been covered in the past, but I've had a =
good
scan around and can't find anything.
I'm trying to get the shockwave plugin to work in Konquerer 3.1, but am =
not
having any luck so far. I've downloaded and unpacked the
flash_solaris.tar.gz file as directed from http://www.macromedia.com. =
I've
copied the libflashplayer.so and ShockwaveFlash.class files to
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/nsplugins:
12 eeyore .../nsplugins > ls -alF
total 2270
drwx------ 2 neilr staff 512 Mar 19 08:37 ./
drwx------ 18 neilr staff 512 Mar 7 16:17 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 164 Mar 19 08:37 cache
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1145475 Mar 19 08:25 =
libflashplayer.so*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 198 Mar 19 08:37 pluginsinfo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2363 Mar 19 08:25 =
ShockwaveFlash.class
And, finally, I've configured Konquerer to allow plugins, and to search =
this
directory for them. If I look at the available plugins on the =
configuration
screen I see plugins available for MIME types application/futuresplash =
and
application/x-shockwave-flash.
However, if I go and visit a site that uses flash, I tend to just get a
blank page. Have I got the permissions wrong? Or does Flash just not =
work
very well with Solaris and KDE yet?
Thanks for listening,
