What do you mean Russell? I installed qt 3.1 from Frog's package, it's in
/opt/qt31. The whole tree is owned by root:other.
Is there something else I can check?

Check the permissions for your Qt stuff.

Hello all,
I have installed Frog's KDE 3.1 packages on Solaris 8 and everything is
working great, but only as the superuser. When I try to log in to KDE from
a normal (NIS) user account The KDE Launcher pops up, hangs on "Initializing
Peripherals" for a while, and then the screen goes grey. At this point I am
forced to do Stop-A on the machine and reboot it to recover.

I have set /tmp/.ICE-unix to permissions 1777 as mentioned in a previous
email but that didn't help, is there anything else I should look at?
Where are the log files for KDE, maybe I can see what is going on if I look
there.

thanks in advance,
A
