Hello all,

It seems I have joined the ranks of kde3.1 compiler/testers
with mixed results.

Platform is Sun Blade-1000, Solaris 8, gcc-3.2.1:

After disabling XRender and Xft options throughout, I was able to build
a basic kde 3.1 environment. (arts-1.1, qt-3.1.1, kdelibs-3.1,
kdebase-3.1).

Now, the problem is I cannot start the desktop as a normal user.
Dcopserver barfs with the following:

_KDE_IceTransSocketCreateListener: failed to bind listener
_KDE_IceTransSocketUNIXCreateListener: ...SocketCreateListener() failed
_KDE_IceTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to create listener for
local
Cannot establish any listening sockets
DCOPServer self-test failed.

It seems a permission problem because as root I can use kde just fine.
Where should I look for additional clues ?

TIA,
