It sure would. How about extending the konstruct build environment for 
this? Maybe add stuff like the Solaris Packaging Tools and way to go!

The whole stuff about Xft2 and such is not really a matter which we would 
have to take care of. That's what the configure scripts are for. But 
anyway it sounds like a nice job to do ;)

And btw Stefan has my vote, as well.
