As you mentioned, GNOME does "as part of the package". So it depends on the 
packages you install, but you can easily hack that together for yourself:
hook it into /etc/dt/config/C/Xresources.d/ with a short file and put a logo 
into /etc/dt/appconfig/icons/C/
