[kde-solaris] How to change default papersize to Letter?

Hi,

Koffice (1.2) defaults to papersize A4.  How do I change this to US Letter?
A lot of our students just take the default to create an empty document,
resulting in papersize A4.  Our HP Laserjet printers will not print these
documents (we only have Letter paper).  

I have compiled Koffice from source (Sun SPARC Solaris 8 with gcc 3.2).
Patching the source to make this change is OK.  But where and what?
