Hi Dale and Wordsfort,
Welcome! I would recommend you to find a project you'd like to
contribute (one you use and found a bug for example or browse existing
issues) and compile and try to fix it.
We have several ways of communications (mailing lists, matrix:
https://community.kde.org/Matrix) dedicated so if you have any
struggle, fill free to ask there and someone will help.
Cheers,
Johnny

>> My name is Dale and I'm a student. I was very busy for the beginning of this year and unfortunately I missed the contributor application deadline. I have been using KDE for a long time and am very passionate about trying to start contributing, and I was wondering if there was any way if I could still find a mentor in any way at all. I would appreciate any response. Thank you so much, I realize this is a lot to ask.
