Hi,
I just pushed a "split" branch to the kde-ruleset repository.
I created split rules for kdesdk and kdeedu for now.
(included are KDE branches and tags and playground/kdereview moves)
When writing the rules I came across moves like that one:
playground/edu/marble -> kdereview/marble -> KDE/kdeedu/marble
To my knowledge it is not possible to import this into a monolithic
repository, it
even gets harder when application have working branches that are named
without a scheme.
Another thing I found was abandoned applications that where moved into
playground or
unmaintained. With a monolithic repository this would not be possible.
The remaining problem for split repositories are cmake modules (they
could be copied
into the applications that need them), libkdeedu and keedu/data.
