The watchable objects business is broken in other ways,
though. In order to get mails from merge requests, the
merge request has to exist first so you can click there
to start watching it. In other words, there's no way to
be notified by mail about a new merge request having
been filed. Even if you're watching the project+repos.

This used to work in the old system where anyone with
review permissions for a project/repos (by way of a
team with the review bit in our current setup for KDE
repositories) would automatically get a mail about a
new merge request.
