I guess that shows the disconnect between you and me. I think the git solution
is introduced *because* that requirement is there for KDE now and its become a
blocker to progress. This and various other such issues.
The problems you are trying to solve in the recent threads have little to no
relation to the problems I have. And I have the impression that many others
are working to get KDE to gitorious feel the same as me.
Bottom line is that continuing to discuss how Git should work or even how KDE
should work is holding back a KDE wide collaboration towards git.
And to point out the obvious; this will hurt much more in the long run than
some not converted history or not (initially) ideal workflows.
