It is unhelpful. Still, there's not a lot of work to be done to stick with
SVN, and that works fine for them, I take it.

What does that have to do with anything? We aren't using git-svn to do the
import and, last I checked, git supports shallow checkouts so you don't have
to pull everything that is in the server's .git/objects directory anyway.
I don't know who is right, but I certainly haven't seen an *data* presented by
either side.

As a user, I just hope all the KDE developers keep this in mind when they
decide it is time for KDE 5. KDE 4 is still painful compared to KDE 3 for
some users. (Though, not myself.)
