Depends on what you mean by "start working on". If you mean, before we start 
the work needed to do the migration, then I disagree. If you mean, before we 
start using git, then yes.

After all, once the e.V. can have the backups of the database, as discussed 
already, the rest is a simple matter of writing a policy document and pointing 
external contributors at it.
