i've been on both sides repeatedly (usually on the complaining side),
and i've seen at least a dozen of other threads during the years, and
that despite monitoring commits for only a very small subset of the
repository. we may have different standards for "too often", but it
definitely isn't a non-issue. so all power to the one who makes the
tools to help avoiding it without getting in the way.
