I would imagine that the reason for this is that what you were telling
them you were going to do is something quite different from what I
actually did.
When you came to me and said "please do this" -- which was to populate
amarok-developers with all amarok developers and give them all admin
access to the repository -- I took a look and realized that it made
absolutely no sense, because it stomped all over what had been agreed
with KDE sysadmins. So I did it another way which did make sense to me
(with the current Gitorious access control abilities), and which keeps
the powers of the developers and sysadmins to what was agreed between
the two camps, while at the same time limiting merge requests to those
that opt-in.
It seems that, for the most part, we can all agree that the latter
solution is at least currently sufficient. But it's not what you
advertised as wanting to do and it's not what you asked me to do, so I
don't think it's fair to criticize people for "repeatedly" demonstrating
that they don't understand it when they weren't given a heads-up that
the situation had changed out from under them and have had to piece that
bit together.
