Hello everyone,

I have worked with git and mercurial and I would like to offer my help
with migrating our SVN repo to git or mercurial .

git is used by a lot of projects in the opensource world, most notably
the Linux kernel and Ruby on Rails

Mercurial is another nice and very capable DSCM ( Distributed Source
Code Management system )

I would go for mercurial now ( without getting into any flamewars on
hg vs git ) simply because Mercurial runs just fine on windows and
windows is a supported platform for KDE.

While there is a utility called "msysgit" which offfers git on
Windows, it's not very good/stable yet.

I am fine with either of the DSCM's and will let the community decide
which one it wants to use

I had prepared a mini-preso/report a while back called "svn to git
migration" a while back.
Here it is: http://manishchaks.googlepages.com/SVNtoGitMigration.pdf

what holds true for git in that preso holds true for mercurial as well
( they have near feature parity except that git is a little faster
than mercurial but is not stable on windows yet)

Thoughts?
