I think we are loosing each other here. :)

With repository model I meant the model of one repository, of the data 
structure as opposed in the interface. Not the flow of data between several 
repositories.

For me: repository = one database (or one local copy)
This thinking is done on the base that the nature of DVCS as implemented by 
mercurial, git & co. that the syncing is manually/automated on top and not 
built inside the DVCS engine.
