I don't think this would work.
The repository model is a consequence of the chosen workflow. And the
workflow is a consequence of the social interactions.
Like Michael said, the Linux kernel uses a military-style social
interaction, where patches go up the chain of command all the way to
Linus Torvalds. It's a way of guaranteeing the trustworthiness of each
patch by limiting the number of people you have trust.
I don't think that would apply to KDE. We have a completely different
social model. Actually, to tell you the truth, the kernel model would be
offensive to KDE developers.
With such big differences in the social model, the repository model would
also be completely different from one project to the next.
