It's clearly memory, then. You might find a 100 stale KIO processes
running, and a huge memory usage in plasma and probably konsole and
konqi too?!? I know these have always been bad for me, at least at
home (2 weeks ago, KDE svn).

I've heard things about fixes, and it is indeed getting better - I
have 3 gb ram, and it used to fill up every now and then (yes, crazy).
Now it's often around 1-1.5 gb. I run a lot of stuff simultaniously so
I guess that is to be expected but I still would love to see it go
down to 500 or something...
