Whoops.  I successfully compiled kdebase that night (and last).  
Unfortunately, the style engine appears to have been shot to hell (all of the 
widgets end up getting ampersands EVERYWHERE).  So you're not missing much at 
this point.

unsermake is being used.
configure-flags are --with-pam --with-shadow --with-gnu-ld --enable-debug=full
CXXFLAGS are -g -march=athlon-xp -pipe -fstack-protector (this one isn't in 
normal GCC).
Qt is qt-copy.
