easy intro programming exercise?

I saw that page, but I was wondering if there was any info on how to 
code with Gambas.  Should I use a good old QBasic text book?  I guess to 
ask the question correctly, where would someone with no experience get 
the information in book form on how to use Gambas?  I know you all 
aren't the Gambas folks, and I have emailed the maintainer.  I truly 
appreciate all your help so far.  :-)
