When to set VERIFIED in BugZilla?

When should I mark a bug as verified.

I have a few bugs that were reported against 3.2 and have now been fixed 
and backported.  I presume that them will work, but I will check them again 
when the KDE_3_2_1_RELEASE is built.

Should I mark them as VERIFIED when I confirm that they have been fixed in 
the 3.2.1 release?  and put them on my do do list for future regression 
testing on 3.3.

If so, then when should the bug be marked CLOSED?

Or, should I wait till a 3.3 RELEASE tag to test them and mark them VERIFIED?
