I don't know if that article is intended to be serious or sarcastic.
But, if it is intended to be serious, I would suggest that the author didn't
understand the license.
As to the actual restrictions, I don't understand why they won't allow you to
install it on a server, or a server OS (a distinction that doesn't really exist
with Linux or Solaris) unless you get a server license. However, I think the
conclusion that a laptop computer is not a "desktop" is simply wrong. And,
since they no longer require registration to download, the idea that you would
apparently need to download it three times to install it on multiple computers
in your home is nonsense.
My conclusion is that there isn't anything unusual about the license that any
home user should worry about.
