The Deep Dive: Defining Open Source AI event [3] has delivered a number of
interesting and thought provoking webinars over the past 3 weeks. You’ll
recall that this is the OSI community’s second annual Deep Dive event.
It’s presented by stakeholders from varied fields and communities on
topics ranging from ensuring ethical use of AI technology to commons-based
data governance.

We felt it was important to open up seats at the table for broad
participation in the drafting of the first Open Source AI Definition. The
next step in this process happens the week of October 17 in Raleigh, North
Carolina, with a 2-hours workshop to review what Open Source AI means.

The OSI will host a whole day at All Things Open:

 	* Open Source 201 [4], led by OSI Board member Pamela Chestek
This session is an advanced primer on Open Source licenses, reviewing the
challenges, successes, best practices, operational policies, and resources
for anyone working in Open Source software.
 	* Open Source and Public Policy [5], led by OSI Director of US Policy Deb
Bryant
This session is an open discussion about how OSS foundations and other open
domain allies are working to influence positive change for the public’s
benefit.
 	* Open Source Compliance & Security [6], led by OSI Board member Aeva
Black
This is a panel discussion on Open Source supply chain compliance and
security, and principles for safer developer ecosystems from the diverse
perspectives of our panelists.
 	* Open Source AI definition: preview, feedback and working session
(Extended Session) [7], led by me and facilitated by Do Big Good Founder
and Principal Mer Joyce
In this interactive session, OSI will share an early draft of the Open
Source AI Definition and a facilitator will collect feedback from
participants.

If you’re attending All Things Open, please add these sessions to your
schedule!
