This mail is just for the record, to inform all interested KDEPrint
users that I submitted two bug reports asking to add support of (long
existing) CUPS 1.1.x and (newly added) 1.2.x features to KDEPrint for
KDE4 (and possibly as backports to KDE 3.5.x and/or 3.6.x):

   http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130423
   http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130425

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Details CUPS 1.1.x
------------------

There are 15 currently unsupported cupsd.conf 1.1.x parameters in
KDEPrint:

  - ConfigFilePerm
  - FaxRetryInterval
  - FaxRetryLimit
  - FileDevice
  - FilterNice
  - Include
  - LimitRequestBody
  - LogFilePerm
  - MaxClientsPerHost
  - MaxCopies
  - PrintcapGUI
  - ReloadTimeout
  - RootCertDuration
  - RunAsUser
  - ServerTokens

These cupsd.conf parameters are explained here:

   http://www.cups.org/doc-1.1/sam.html#7_4

Details CUPS 1.2.x
------------------

There are 18 newly introduced cupsd.conf 1.2.x parameters unsupported
by current KDEPrint:

  - BrowseLDAPBindDN
  - BrowseLDAPDN
  - BrowseLDAPPassword
  - BrowseLDAPServer
  - BrowseLocalOptions
  - BrowseLocalProtocols
  - BrowseRemoteOptions
  - BrowseRemoteProtocols
  - DefaultEncryption
  - DefaultPolicy
  - DefaultShared
  - JobRetryInterval
  - JobRetryLimit
  - PassEnv
  - Policy
  - ServerToken
  - SetEnv
  - UseNetworkDefault

These new cupsd.conf param are explained here:

   http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/ref-cupsd-conf.html

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll add "TODO.cups11" and "TODO.cups12" files to the current source
code repository in kdelibs/kdeprint to make it easier to keep track
of the tasks in the coming months. These files likely will contain
some more details as well.

KDEPrint can always benefit by getting help from people who can code
C++/Qt! (Not just by useless folks like myself who only write bits
of docu and lots of feature requests...)

Cheers,
Kurt
