Hi everybody,

I try to print from client workstations (with NIS identification and
cupsys-client  1.1.14-5 on KDE3.1.4/DebianWoody) via a CUPS server (running
cupsys 1.1.14-5 on Debian (Woody), this server is also the NIS server)
In order to improve security, regular user do not have a shell on the server
(=>"/bin/false" in /etc/passwd) but then only users with a shell (eg
/bin/bash in /etc/passwd) can achieve the printing process without problem;
for those with no shell, the following error message appears:

"cupsdoprint -P 'printer' -J '' -H 'server.domain.net:631' -U 'user' -o '
copies=1 orientation-requested=3' '/tmp/kde-test/konquerorNaI0Eb.ps'
execution stopped with the message"

the most desperating is that /var/log/cups/error_log doesn't read anything
either on the server nor clients

thanks for helping
