PPD-O-Matic is to generate a PPD file from the DB, given a
printer model and a driver. It does not "change" the DB, it
just uses it.

OTOH, a user-friendly tool to update the DB (locally, for example,
with possibility to notify a central repository) could be an
interesting project.
