Can't get CUPS to print

I've just installed CUPS on a Slackware 9.0 system.  I'm using an
AcctonCheetah Gateway router to share my Lexmark 3200 printer.  I've
configured the printer using the usual browser-based method.  The
description of my printer on the "printers" page is:

Description: Lexmark 3200
 Location: 192.168.2.1
 Printer State: idle, accepting jobs. 
Device URI: lpd://192.168.2.1/lpt1 

I've managed to get this to work on another system of mine.

Whe I try to print a file nothing happens.  When I do #lpq I get:

        Lexmark is ready
        no entries

When I go to the /var/log/cups/error_log I get:
