Hi -- there is a new HOWTO available (a draft for the Samba-3.0
HOWTO Collection).

     http://www.linuxprinting.org/kpfeifle/SambaPrintHOWTO/

Check it out. It is the best otut there currently.... ;-)

Don't forget this part:

     http://www.linuxprinting.org/kpfeifle/SambaPrintHOWTO/Samba-HOWTO-Collection-3.0-PrintingChapter-8th-draft.html#39

This might be significant. Have you Samba installed? Which
version? What do the commands

      ls -l /usr/lib/cups/backend/
      ls -l /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb

give?
