The wrong paper size on every single job, requiring a manual override
individually on every single job, is not a "sane default." Providing two
configuration dialogues for the same feature, one of which has no effect, and
ignoring the configuration set elsewhere by the operating system component
responsible for such things, is not "excellent integration."
The big picture of KDE's general development philosophy is interesting, but
let's not lose sight of the simple bug that is the reason we're gathered here:
CUPS provides default printer settings, which KDE ignores. KDE should read and
use CUPS's default printer settings. That shouldn't be complicated or
controversial.
