I can confirm this (KDE 4.6.1), but in my case it's the second printer (out of
three) that is always selected by default, although my default printer is the
first in the list. I always thought this happened because the second printer on
the list USED to be my default printer, and when I changed that, the print
dialog for some reason didn't get updated according to the new settings. Did
you change your default printers in the same way?

This bug is very annoying (and potentially harmful): my second printer is not
located in my workplace, but elsewhere. I've printed private documents to the
other place a few times, and once (when it was confidential) had to drive there
to pick it up before someone found it on the printer tray. I know I should pay
more attention to the print dialog, but the software has it's good share of the
guilt.
