Hello,

My name is Rutger Claes and I'm one of the GSoC students working on
kde-print.

Here in Belgium, exams are still going on (only one more to go... ).
So I haven't had the time to work on my project very much.

What have I done so far:

	- I've been reading up on KDE4, Qt4 and C++ development.
	- I've been checking out other print dialogs, thinking about what I
would like in a print dialog and reading usability reports on print
dialogs.

Now, IANAUP[1], but these are my thoughts on the kde print dialog:

	1) First, select the printer you want to use
	2) Select what you want to print
	3) Choose how the content is put on the pages
	4) Choose how you want to print this (ink level...)

During all these steps feedback is needed. Getting a preview should
be easy and should not interfere with the printing action. Getting
some sort of preview should not stop you from adjusting parameters.
Currently KDE and Mac OS X act this way. The custom printing dialog
of Adobe Acrobat shows a (small) preview reflecting your current
settings. This is just one of the things I as a user would like.

Again, IANAUP. So if you have any thoughts on how the KDE print
dialog could be improved, send them to me.

	Rutger
