please state the version of Samba you are using. (The smb:// backend used by CUPS is a symlink to the Samba "smbspool" utility -- so the smb:// backend in reality is provided by the Samba package).

Is this problem still there with KDE 3.5.5 and the latest Samba version 3.0.23d?

I'm sorry, I can't test/verify myself this bug right now due to certain physical restrictions...
