I can't reproduce on...

 ...SUSE-10.0            / KDE-3.5.5
 ...GoboLinux013 Live CD / KDE 3.5.3
 ...Knoppix 5.1.0        / KDE 3.5.5

Thomas, if you *still* see it on Gentoo with KDE 3.5.5, then please try it again with a Knoppix or other Live CD. If you can reproduce it there (I may be too old and doddery to aim at a single pixel), feel free to re-open the bug.
