Maciej,
did you try my advice to switch your print subsystem plugin away from CUPS? This should effectively stop any autodiscovery mechanism of printers. Try it. It will solve your problem for now.
@ a) This is the first time you talked about "Print Preview". Which application
was this? (Before you only mentioned "accidentally choosing print dialog"
and "JavaScript".)
@ b) I didn't say it's an error if you have no printer. But if you click
"Print", it can be assumed that you also have a printer, and if then a
printer is not found, it is an error.
Also, you may not be aware: CUPS works in the network, it is not only for
*personal*, locally attached printers. Clients are able to discover any
new printers that might be added by the CUPS server admin; servers are
able to promote their newly acquired queues within seconds to all clients
which need no additional configuration steps; that's why there is what you
call "autodiscovery" in kprinter. If you don't need CUPS, just disable it
in the plugin selection -- simple as that. And yes, you can then still
"print to PDF", because that is completely independent from CUPS.
@ e) Sorry, I didn't at all understand what you are trying to say.
I hope you noted that we accepted a few of your suggestions nevertheless. :-)
