I have the same problem for my gentoo system, but I think I found the underlying problem. psnup is used to put multiple pages on one sheet. It has a switch (-l) for landscape mode. When printing multiple pages, psnup is called from kprinter like psnup -pa4 -4 /tmp/kde-cbswrqzIx/kpdfInIrab.ps. If the -l flag is added, then the output is as expected.
