I agree that this part is less than ideal.  On the other hand I didn't see a
discussion at all about it going into CVS (not implying that one didn't
happen; it just didn't happen on any of the lists that I'm on), so there was
no chance for me to object at that time.

Specifically the issue came up now just as someone would like to import more
of this type of software (this one I believe has an actual implementation of
the protocols and isn't a frontend for something else).

p.s. Is it just me or is this like the one list on kde.org that doesn't set
