  Hmm OK I just realized that this changes the following behaviour: after using kdepim for a while, you go on holidays for 2 months, you come back, and now you get 2 months of reminders, while the old code was only showing 10 days of reminders.
  
  Maybe I need to keep the if()/return that I removed. The actual fix is the default value for the value, for first time users.
  
  What do you think?
